Defining a moment in history

The UAE Ministry of Presidential Affairs entrusted us with directing and leading the delivery and execution of the historic state visit of Pope Francis. Our mission was to ensure this moment marked history by bringing together the many components that would shape the visit's legacy.
WHAT DID WE DO?
WHAT DID WE DO?
In just 14 days, we staged four major global events at the Zayed Sports Stadium. With only a 71 hour turnaround, we hosted the Papal Mass for 180,000 attendees, which was broadcast to millions around the world.
What were the Challenges
What were the Challenges
The two weeks leading up to the Pope's visit posed significant logistical challenges. We had to assimilate two distinct cultures into one venue environment while accommodating three international football matches for the AFC Asian Cup, in addition to 24 hours of rain. The tournament Final occurred just 71 hours before the Papal Mass.
What was our Solution?

A Unified Vision

Beyond producing an incredible stage event with unique elements like a marble altar, 120-member choir, and replica 1920s church organ from the UK, HQWS strategically aligned the event with the UAE's sovereign goals. With the audience at the core of our vision, we crafted a legacy that unfolded before a global broadcast audience of 1.1 billion. The historic visit left an indelible impact.
